AFRICAN IMAGE MAKERS
SCHOLARSHIPS FOR
OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT

The African Image Makers Scholarships for Outstanding Achievement recognize and reward exceptional academic achievement at the senior high school level, community involvement as well as participation in school activities and encourage students to pursue post-secondary studies. The scholarships are based on scholastic achievements in Grade 12 with $1500 awarded respectively to a male and female student of African descent.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants for the African Image Makers Scholarships for Outstanding Achievement must be Ontario residents of African descent who have completed high school on or after June 30th. In addition they must have been accepted to full-time enrollment in a post-secondary program of at least one year in length. The minimum required average for consideration at the Grade 12 level is 70% as calculated from marks on a valid Ontario high school transcript. Family income restrictions do apply. APPLICATION PROCEDURES

Application deadline is May 31st.

Transcripts must be sent to the office of African Image Makers no later than June 30th.

Students will be notified of the status of their application in early July. Scholarship funds are issued after the office of African Image Makers confirms the applicant's enrollment.

Awards are disbursed by July 31st.

Students are asked to advise the office of African Image Makers of any changes to their applications that affect the receipt of their award; i.e. change of permanent home address, delayed entry into post-secondary studies or a change in choice of institution.
